    Hi out there.

I'm having problems with opening folders.
Almost everytime I open a folder and click what is inside Windows Explorer tells me it has encounted a problem and needs to shut down.

The error I can see from running eventvwr.msc is:

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: Application Error
    Event Category: (100)
    Event ID: 1000

I've looked on other posts and I've run a virus check (McAfee) and a Spyware Sweep (Web root spy sweeper) and also disabled all the non Microsoft shells using shellview and it is still happening.

Does anyone have any advise on what else I could do?

    Thanks

    Jon.

Although removing XviD will most likely do the trick...

Ok I think I've found the codec that was causing the problem and I've deleted it,

    Thanks for the advise.

    Cheers
