Greetings all. I hope this is an easy question. I've got two computers - aptly named desktop and laptop. Both run XP Pro and up until last night this was working fine... then I ran the MS Update software, ran my monthly backup (laptop > desktop), and now it seems to be having issues.

The issue: I can no longer access my desktop from my laptop (wireless, or wired - neither works). Both systems access the Internet just fine, and Explorer can see the Laptop's C: drive. I disabled Windows Firewall and I disabled McAfee's firewall program - with no luck.

    This is the error:
An error occurred while reconnection Y: to \\Desktop\E
Microsoft Windows Network: The network path was not found.
This connection has not been restored.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,
    Neal

    Problem resolved itself?

Somehow, the problem is now fixed. Go figure.
