pop/web email accounts in one. I absolutely LOVE EPrompter but it has the tendency to shut down my computer randomly when checking mail and also I get the Blue Screen of Death with it. I love that idea of software but can't find one that will check BOTH web based and my outlook accounts. I use Pop Tray right now but it doesn't check my hotmail accounts... :(

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Thanks! Have a great day!

    :D

why dont u just use outlook express for your pop account and set it so it also recives pop3 account from hotmail.
i think hotmail can be used as a pop 3 account i know yahoo can as thats what i have i can pick four different email accounts all in my outlook.

Now you've got me wondering. I have seen this in the past but I took it to mean that you wouldn't be able to use the web based hotmail to retrieve mail from your pop 3 email accounts. An example of what I mean would be that in the past, if you were gone from home for a while (vacation maybe) you could log onto hotmail on the web and use it to check your email account from your ISP. Reading the link that you posted I still get get that impression. Guess we'll find out in a few days.

Sorry guys I shoulda explained better!!

I meant a program that sits in your bottom toolbar or whatever and checks your email and it rotates or whatever and pretty much announces when you get email. It's meant that you don't have to go into Outlook every 10 minutes and see if you might have email. I do use outlook, and these work together.

    Does that make more sense???

You can set Outlook to check for mail as often as you like (5min, 10min, whatever). Just go to Tools -> Options -> Mail setup -> Send/Receive, then check automatic send/receive and set however many minutes. Setup Outlook to check your Hotmail account along with your regular e-mail account. HTH

I went to download.com, did a search for "mail check" and got 285 hits.

Several of the free ones look like what you're wanting and there are, of course, plenty of shareware email checkers.

I've used email-checking utilities and I've found the best thing to do is start trying them out until you find one you like and your computer gets along with.

I use a little freeware utility called Mail Inspector.
I have multiple email accounts and am using it with Windows XP.
Works great with Win 98 also

I downloaded Mailwasher a couple of weeks ago and so far so good. I only have one e-mail account that it checks but it appears to allow multiple accounts in the Options. It is free as downloaded but if you contribute $20 the developer provides support and removes the scrolling ad at the top. I will probably send in my contribution shortly.
