    Hi,

My PC is having a problem starting up under only one user profile with XP. I recently had the Winantivirus pro virus/adware on my pc and removed it with a vundo removal tool. That seemed to have worked but now the user/profile that I usually use to log on to xp with will not load completely. It will load halfway and then come to a halt.

Here's my HJT log please help. I recently reloaded windows I don't really feel like going through that process again! I figure this must be due to some virus or something. I've downloaded tons of virus removal programs and syware removal programs though. Oh and when i try to use trend micro's house call now after a certain point in the scan the whole browser window just automatically closes......... Its crazy.

Hi Nika and welcome to the WindowsBBS forums.

To be clear, you have since reloaded the OS after removing the WinAntiVirus infection? If so, there is now way the infection could survive that and we're dealing with something else.

Your log has a couple of very minor items, but nothing related to malwares.

When opening the user account, do you get any errors at all?

The only ting I could find is this page from MS related to user accounts not fully loading.

Let us know if that helps and about the other thing I asked about.

Hi and thank you for the welcoming.

I reloaded xp prior to getting winantivirus pro.

But since I posted i ran check disk and it found a few errors and repaired them and I was able to log on to that user acct just a few mins ago. I haven't logged off yet and tried again lol he he he kinda scared. I'll post again if its not working.

Oh but do you see anything not goog in my log?

Glad to hear you seemed to have it sorted out.

The only items in your log were these:
These can be fixed with no ill effects to your machine.

The (file missing) & (no file) is usually a result of an unclean uninstall.

The other is a setting no longer needed.
