    I want to be able to access the same my documentsfolder from the start menu as normal, both as administrator and user. Can it be done? Hope this makes sense.

    I have never done it but my assumption is yes, it can be done but first, a few questions:

    Do you have a "standard setup" with;

    - C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents and

    - C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents?

    Do you currently have user folders and files in both locations?

    Do you want to continue using one and abandon the other?

    If the answer to all questions is YES, if you want to continue using C:\Documents and Setings\Administrator\My Documents and abandon the other:

    As a safety precaution if your documents are important and losing them would be a pain, backup to CD/DVD before doing the deed. I don't say it will but anything can go wrong.

    Logged in as User, right click the My Documents icon on the desktop > Properties > Target > Move > in the window that pops up, browse to and highlight C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents > click OK.

    When asked if you want to move the existing folders and files into the new location, the answer is NO. The reason for that is that there will be folders with the same names and the ones moved will overwrite the ones already in the desired location. Instead, move (cut-and-paste) the user created folders and files into the desired location manually in Windows Explorer.

    I have a similar problem to Jaycee, but different.

    My explorer tree is in a real mess. I have too many "my document" folders, but in the past when I have tried to delete one, all are deleted. I think because the default folder at the top of the tree will not delete.

    Similar to the answer you gave Jaycee.........
    ..........is it OK to move all folders that are documents under the very top my document folder and then delete the rest? Or, will duplicates be in the doc&set/my name folder? I think this happened in the past and it was not to my liking. ......
    .......my document folders now are directly under the C:\ drive and nothing is in any of the "my documents" folders.
    ........I do need to clean up this mess.

    Thanks for any suggestions.
