    Hi there
I have a IBM think pad R31 with windows xp. Have already been to major geeks to clean this thing up (awesome help). It seems clean now only I cannot start it in safe mode. I have tried the sfc /scannow method with a borrowed cd but it is not working. When trying to get in safemode from F8 key it keeps sending me back to the options page and will only let me select normal or last known good configuration. When trying through misconfig Boot.ini it says out of memory then stops responding. Hoping someone can help with this. Thanks

Have you deleted all the cleanup files? Would there be any kept in "vaults" by cleanup programs. Same with registry keys. Can you still find what was cleaned up, because that may be the only way you can return what was incorrectly(?) removed.
    Hope you have some luck.

    Matt
