After my reformat, I decided to installed Kaspersky AntiHacker and AntiVirus along with SM6 (instead of Norton), because I heard it was better. However, whenever Kaspersky AV runs in real-time protection mode, it seems to slow down my computer so much that the mouse lags and any video or music clips have that annoying slowdown echo to them.

I turn off real-time protection, and nothing. Is this a common thing? My system far exceeds what SM6 suggests, so I don't understand what would be causing it.

    hello JPaterson,

For some users KAV does run slow. I run the AV only with the WEB AV disabled which is the usual suspect for sluggish behavior. Your reference to SM6 is a new one on me, what is it?

Sorry for the delay, but thanks for the response. I'll try disabling that and seeing what happens.

As for SM6, I was referring to System Mechanic 6 by iolo Software.
