I've run across an interesting "feature" with office 2000. One of our users is updating a meeting request by changing the location. When the notification is sent out to invitees, they get a cancellation message as well as an update message.

As per usual, the Microsoft Knowledge Base didn't help, so I was wondering if anyone has any ideas?

Is the meeting really marked as cancelled or do they simply get a notice to that effect?

no, they simply get a notice to that effect. the meeting itself isn't cancelled. as such, I wouldn't normally care, but one of our users complained about it recently.

Since no one seems to have a real good idea on this (not only here but I didn't have any luck with a few dozen google searches or the M$ online help) it sounds like a good one to run by the M$ tech support folks.

This should fall under their free support options and they are outstanding at locating and giving fixes for strange errors like this one.

The last strange one I can remember them doing for me turned out to be a problem that only happened when running MS Office on a PC with a specific 3-com NIC and a particular version of the Word Perfect suite loaded. I don't think I even want to know how they tracked that one down.
