If I have asked this before then I apoligize right now.

In my C:\Windows and on D: drive I find many files folders such as
$NTUinstallKBxxxxxxx with a Sub folder named spuninst containing a file named spuninst.txt.

What in the world are these things and can they be deleted ?

On my D: drive the files are dated 7/15/2006

In my C:\Windows the files are dated 9/23/2006

Are they telling me that I updated Windows on those dates ? ( I say yes )

The files/folders are from Win Updates. If you are certain you'll never need to uninstall an update then yes, you can delete the folders.

    Hi BillyBob,

You can burn them out or back them up to another HD which is what I do and keep them for awhile. They can be downloaded again just in case.

I modified your title to clarify what files you're asking about.

    Regards - Charles
