    I had formatted my PC recently. However, it behaves on its own mood sometime it works and sometime it doesnot.
    What happens is when desktop icons and everything is ready to go and when I double click cursor to open file /program it doesnt react at all and remain silent like dead.(cursor does move but doent respond)I go furious and shut off power and again reboot then I find that everything is all right but my happiness doesnt last for long and once again it behaves erratic when I boot again.
    I cant figure out what is wrong Is it hard drive problem?? or any software problem .How I should track it .Any guidance to make this right pl.

    Event viewer log files

    I am giving below various error log files from event viewer. can anyone figure out what is problem and how to solve this:
    Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting module , version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000.wuauclt (2892) The database engine stopped.

    Faulting application drwtsn32.exe, version 5.1.2600.0, faulting module dbghelp.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x0001295d.

    Faulting application getright.exe, version 6.0.3.0, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000.
    Windows saved user PANCHALWORLD\RAJENDRA registry while an application or service was still using the registry during log off. The memory used by the user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is no longer in use.

    This is often caused by services running as a user account, try configuring the services to run in either the LocalService or NetworkService account.

    he description for Event ID ( 35 ) in Source ( NSCService ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Norton Protection Center Service.
    wuaueng.dll (2660) SUS20ClientDataStore: The database engine has begun replaying logfile C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\Logs\edb.log.

    Added Event File

    Once again today I noted following event but on rebooting again it got solved , such is un predictable behaviour. anyone can help to rectify this pl.

    IPSec Services: IPSec Services failed to get the complete list of network interfaces on the machine. This can be a potential security hazard to the machine since some of the network interfaces may not get the protection as desired by the applied IPSec filters. Please run IPSec monitor snap-in to further diagnose the problem.

    This seems to mean Windows Automatic Updates is not working very well.

    "Faulting application drwtsn32.exe, version 5.1.2600.0, faulting module dbghelp.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x0001295d. "
    This seems to mean that Dr. Watson (Windows diagnostic) is having a
    problem.

    "Faulting application getright.exe, version 6.0.3.0, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000.

    This type of error is usually caused by a registry Key not there, or a registry Key referring to something that used to be or should be there. Getright is/was a spyware related product, maybe looking for some adware/spyware aspect that isn't there?

    "You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Norton Protection Center Service.

    It seems to me the Norton product isn't working correctly, maybe because of the above problem.

    Personally, I would start over.
    What prompted you to format, and then install from the Recovery CD's?

    Does your Recovery CD's install XP, XP Service Pack 1 or 1a, or Service Pack 2.

    Thnks for replying;

    Thanks a lot for feedback;

    The reason I decided to format was.After I installed NAV 2006 from my friend ;my system hanged and I was able to log only in safe mode;as in safe mode I couldn't remove program.I formatted.
    With recovery CD WINXP was installed but then i logged MS site and installed SP-2;
    My question is why after again rebooting it works; if there is problem it should remain forever but why it activates randomly;
    CAn u suggest any program which can analyse and solve these issue

    I have no idea if you had System Restore working, but it would have solved your NAV problem in a matter of minutes by simply using the Restore Point that was created when you installed NAV. Your computer would have been rolled back to how it was before installation.
    I don't know of a program that does what you want, maybe someone else on here does.
