I cannot delete or move favorites--folders, websites, etc--get the following message:

Cannot delete. Access is denied. Make sure disk is not full or write-protected.

    Are you the admin?

Some say that it is best to do your surfing while in a limited user account, and only log in as admin when you need to, for changing settings, etc. That should all be covered in the documentation that came with your pc.

    Hello JayMc,
If you aren't sure if you an Administrator you can try the following options:

Log on to your User Account like you normally would then go to start< Control Panel< User Accounts. Click on your Account and make sure it says Computer Administrator. If does not say that then change your account type by clicking on your account then click on change the account type. Change your account so that it has Administrator Rights. After you do that then try to delete the favorites that you don't want. :)

If that fails, restart your computer and wait until you see the login page with your User Account. Instead of logging onto your account press Ctrl, Alt, Delete twice and this will bring up the classic logon page used by earlier versions of Windows. In the user name type Administrator then type your password (if you don't have a password for the Administrator Account just leave it blank) then press enter. ;)

Another way of logging onto the Admin account is to press F8 while the computer is starting up. That will get you into Safe Mode. :D

Once you are logged onto the Admin account go into where your favorites are stored and then try to delete them. If you still recieve the Access is Denied error message then right click the file and go to properties. Uncheck the boxes that say read only and hidden so those 2 boxes should be blank and then press ok. Now try to delete the files.

Hopefully this helps you with your problem. :) ;)
