I know this has been asked more than once in the past, but here goes again.

What's the easiest way to get windows 98 installed over an NTFS Windows 2000 installation? I was thinking about doing a clean reinstall of Windows 2000 and specifying a FAT32 file system and then use a win98 startup disk to format the drive. Will this work? Is there an easier way?

    Hi,
I believe the easiest way is to format your hard drive with win98 start up disk, so the entire partition will be back to FAT format again. Then install your win98...
May I know the reason why you want to switch back? my win2k is pissing me off lately as well... i am thinking of switching back too.

Personally, I love windows 2000. I never have problems. However, a friend of mine needs to know how to remove it. He installed it on a Dell laptop and now a lot of the physical buttons (such as volume) won't work, the dial-up modem won't work, and there's no option to output the display to the video-out. These are just a few of the things he's mentioned. He's tried getting updated drivers, but nothing seems to work. As for the video-out problem, that's just an option that windows 2000 does not have.
