Somehow, while attempting to d/l FF 1.0.5.7 I ended up with 1.07. Well it did a lotta strange things but more noticeable, did NOT work at all.

Used Sys Restore and got back into biz. Noticed, later that the update is 1.0.5.7 and not 1.07.

Head reeling.... did a search on 1.07 got a mozilla page but not much info. What is this 1.07? Is it for real? It timed out a couple times during d/l, citing the server in "changzu" or something like that. Server in China? Maybe a "nasty "?

    Just very curious.

    Bob,

Same thing happened to me the first time I downloaded what I thought was 1.5.0.7. I thought maybe I had clicked on the wrong version. However, I caught the error before installing...

Did you download from the FTP page here ?
    http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/

I'll check the FF Newsgroups and see if this has happened to anyone else.

    Ramona,
No didn't notice anything like an FTP site. It simply download a file Firefox . . .107.exe or something similar. I double clicked and it went though query pages normally seen when installing FF but it just didn't work. Didn't seem to cause any problems other than that. I uninstalled it right away and reinstalled 1.5.0.4.

Went the "normal" FF page, found 1.5.0.7, d/l'd it and this time it installed quickly, easily and no complications. TB 1.5.0.7 installed automatically, faultlessly I might add.

Ran my three favorite anti-nasty progs and found nothing. Guess no harm done -- at least so far.

Found this page which refers to 1.07 but when you click for info, it talks of 1.5, 1.5.0.7.

    Curiouser and curiouser.

When I clicked on the link which was provided, I was asked to install a bunch of oriental fonts, or whatever. Since Chines, modern or traditional, Japanese and Korean are not my strong points, I closed the four windows. Then a page, in English, talking only about 1.0.7, came up. The says 1.0.7, the pages say 1.0.7, so it is not 1.5.0.7.
I am a believer, till proven otherwise, of the incremental updates. I have not downloaded a complete .exe since 1.5 gave out, and, the incremental updates have, always, indicated the correct version.
