It seems I'm forever receiving that annoying message "Internet Explorer - has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience...etc ".
If I choose to report it (waste of time) or not - it closes and kicks me out of the site. This started a couple of weeks ago and is driving me nuts - seems to happen when I'm on a site and click on a link to the next page....

Anyone any clues on this one??? Using Version 6.0.2900.2180 xpsp_sp2
    Much appreciated

There are a large number of possible causes for this, and they usually boil down to the fact that your browser is IE. Any particular reason you are using it?
If not, I'd suggest getting hold of FireFox (or Opera if you don't mind the ads).
Much more stable, much more secure, more features and fully extendable (or extendible?).

Click the click here link at the bottom of the message box. You should see a list of files. What is the "module" name that you see?

Well I downloaded Firefox and tried clicking on " obtain receipt" link (this is where IE was kicking me out with the above message) all that came on screen was a blank page and "Done" in the bottom LH corner....... I suppose one could say - "at least you weren't kick out" :) Anyway, not sure if that's going to solve my problem, although I will play with Firefox for a while.

I'll also try Steve's links and advise

There is an extension for FireFox called "IE Tab ", it lets you switch to an emulated IE renderer for the current tab, or for every tab connected to particular domains (eg Microsoft Update). You could try that.

Well, Firefow isn't the answer to my original problem - it continues to show a blank page when I click on a link to open....IE comes up with the error message and kicks me back to my Desktop. Just had a thought, maybe it's adobe that's causing the problem somehow ? Although that seems to work OK with most other downloads

Well, I might just have solved my own problem... I removed my Adobe Reader 7.08 and then downloaded a fresh copy of 7.08. So far so good, at least a copy of reports I wanted to see before and a receipt I wanted to see and print now work. I haven't been kicked out with the "sorry" message as yet.

Fingers crossed and thank you all for your replies

    :)
