    Hello,

    I have been having a problem since I updated with the last batch of Windows Updates. I cannot connect to my Server Desktop through the Remote Web Workplace.

    I can log into the RWW just fine, I have tried it on both local network and external network connection, same problem. I can even access client computers, the problem only seems to occur when I try to connect to the server. Has anyone run into this problem before?

    I have restarted the machine multiple times since the Windows Updates and also tried re-running the ICW, but with no changes.

    Any ideas?

    For any poor suckers like me that run into this problem...I have found a solution!

    Here is a more detailed description of the exact same problem, however this did not provide a solution, which is why I decided to come back and post mine once I had finally found it:

    Remote Web Workplace - Connect to Desktop not working... > Small Business Server Forum - English > Smallbizserver.Net
    http://www.smallbizserver.net/Default.aspx?tabid=53&view=topic&forumid=11&postid=13669

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The solution was related to an error I found in the event log:
    Code:
    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: TermDD
    Event ID: 50
    Description:
    The RDP protocol component  "DATA ENCRYPTION" detected an error in the protocol stream and has disconnected the client.
    Which led me to this link on the MS KB:
    "The RDP Protocol Component "DATA ENCRYPTION" Detected an Error..." error message
    http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?kbid=323497
    After deleting the bad registry entry and rebooting, the problem was solved. (Note: I only had 1 of the 3 listed registry entries.)
    I owe you one!
    SlackMaster -
    I have spent the last several hours beating my head against the wall. I had the same symptoms and finally decided to go back and look at the Event Viewer. In the system server reports, these errors were not showing up.
    I only had the x509 certificate value as well. It was deleted, the server rebooted, and I was able to connect to the server via mstsc.
    Thanks again,
    Dave
