Lately, when receiving an e-mail with a .pps extension, I copy to a desktop folder in order to open. I have d/l both PP viewer '97 and 2003. If I recall, in the past I would click on the extension icon and it would open. Is something amiss here?
    OS - WinXP Pro.

Only copy the .pps extension to a folder.

You mean you saved the .pps "file" to a folder correct?

What happens when you click on it?

Yes, Steve, after copying it to a folder on the desktop - then going to that desktop folder and click on it and it opens.

David, as I mentioned in my original post. In the past, if I recalled, I could open the .pps extension by clicking in the attachment in OE (without copying to a folder).

    Hi Trident,
By a pure coincidence I had to download and install the PPS viewer today. If you click on the file and select 'Send to desktop', then right click on the desktop shortcut, select 'Open with' and browse to the PPS viewer then select 'Always use this program for this kind of file' it will all work like it used to.
It should also work in your mail program too, it does in mine, but I have to right click again.

    Roger;)

Hi Roger, thanks for the suggestion. Will copy it and try on the next pps file I receive.

Really is no big deal, just thought that it worked differently sometime ago.
