When I receive email attachments written in Word I have trouble printing the attachments. The margins are not correct and each time I set them the margins are still outside parameters of the printer. I am using XP and IE 6.0

Do you have the paper size set to letter?

    1) Do you have a copy of the font the file is created with installed on your computer? (If so, look at #2.)

    2) It could be that the files you may be trying to print might be from a newer version of Word, or from a version from a different OS (Mac, XP, etc.).

Check this out if you can. (There are some easy solutions, but I think I need more info.) ;)

Otherwise, if the person who is sending them to you doesn't know what version of word the file was created on, ask them to save it as a "rich text file" (Word will change the file's extension to .rtf) and send it to you again.

When you get the .rtf, open it with Word and save it as a Word 2000 .doc and it should print on your system.

    3) The file may have a certain format embedded in it so that it prints on a particular type of printer in a certain way, that you are not aware of. Look into #1 and #2 first and see if that helps. :) (This is a sort-of hidden hold-over from earlier Word versions.)

Tell us your findings (if any), I'm intrigued.
