Does anyone know how to get rid of all previous searches without getting rid of the auto-complete feature alltogether? Alternatively, how do you disable the feature?
    Thanks.

Tools > Internet Options > Content > Autocomplete and take your choice :)

I assume that is what you were after?

Alternatively try CCLeaner and use just the Internet Explorer part of it.

skaler2k--If by "searches" you mean what is in the Address line dropdown list and the URL's in your History folder, these are not in AutoComplete. To clear them, IE tools|Internet Options|General tab|History|Clear History.
I cannot remember if that will clear "Searches" from third party search engine toolbars or not. In Google Toolbar you can clear from the Google Toolbar itself from Options|Search tab.
