Our computers at work were replaced recently (both hardware and software - we went from Win2000 to WinXP Pro), and I'm in the process of trying to install on my new computer some of the software I had loaded on my old one. One program, Print Artist 3.0, won't give me the option of installing any more, although it installed fine on the old system. When I put the CD in, I can run the program without any problem, but I'm curious about why I can't actually install it. It would just be more convenient not to have to dig out the CD every time I want to use the program... I've successfully installed other software (eg., Kodak EasyShare), so I don't think it's a question of my not having necessary "privileges" to install something (although my computer is on a network, so I understand I probably don't exactly have free rein).
When I tried clicking on the setup.exe file on the CD, it initially looked like it was going to work, but then I got some message to the effect of "cannot divide by zero ", and the process ended there.
    Any suggestions would be welcome!
    Thanks,
    Rebecca
Addendum: Print Artist 3.0 apparently dates back to 1996, and a description of it online states that its Platform is Windows 95/98. As I mentioned before, though, I was able to install it on my Windows 2000 computer.

    You said it :) ....
The setup file is not compatible with XP, although the program would appear to be.

Copy the CD to a folder on your hard drive and put a shortcut to the - I guess- autorun file.

An alternative may be to try running the setup.exe in Compatability Mode right click on setup.exe > properties > compatability tab.

Thanks, Pete! I'll give your suggestions a shot by the end of the week and post back.

I tried your "compatibility" mode option first - once again, it looked like everything was going well (menu showed up with the option to install), but then when it checked the system's resources (or something to that effect), I got the "Application Error - integer divide by 0" message again.
So then I went with your first option (copy the CD to a folder). Double-clicking on setup.exe didn't do squat, neither did double-clicking on autorun.exe (the PrintArtist splash screen would show up and that was it - no hourglass or anything, just plain end-of-the-line). In my original browsing of the internet for a solution, I'd found mention of a "pawin.exe" a few times, so I tried double-clicking on that, and lo and behold, the program opened right up. So I put a shortcut to pawin.exe on my desktop, and now I can finally run the program from my hard drive again.
Thanks again for the help, Pete!
