I have customized my Windows XP Desktop with my own icons (mainly for web URL shortcuts) , It has worked fine for years from IE 5 to IE 7 beta 3 , I installed successfully yesterday IE 7 Rc1 , all seems working fine , however when I click on a shortcut (ie: a URL from my FAVORITE folder I have placed on my Desktop with a customized icon) my customized icon on Desktop is replaced with the "Favicon" of the website I visited .
For instance , if you visit "eBay" , in your address bar the "eBay" URL start with a small "eBay" icon , when I close IE 7 Rc1 , my customized "eBay" icon on Desktop has been changed into the fuzzy small "eBay" icon.
When I tried with another browser like Opera or Firefox , I didn't have the problem.
Is somebody experienced the problem ...??

Considering I don't use IE rC1, I don't have the issue. rC1 is still beta, so I don't touch it. Most beta products I don't use.... just because of bugs like this. I would uninstall it and wait for the release of IE 7.

Welcome to the Board both :)

I think this is 'by design' - this was not the case in earlier builds, as I recall - have you tried changing the icon back to your preferred? - works for me :)

RC1 is hardly beta any more - it is probably the final version before RTM which will be supplied as a Windows Update in a couple of months. FWIW MS are onto IE 7.5 now :)
