The "compose" form (NS 7.2) for email messages disappeared. The "compose" and the "reply" buttons initiate a blank screen with no "tool bar" showing. How can the "compose" form be retrieved short of re-installing the program?

You must have chosen to compose in HTML format to see the toolbar. Those settings are in your Prefs|Mail and News|account name. Probably in Composition and Addressing there should be a check mark.
Now, if you get a totally blank page, with nothing at all above the area of composition, the problem may be different. Did you install some new Theme, recently? I have seen more Themes causing problems in Mail than anything else.
In any event, reinstalling the program won't help, because the settings are located in the profile.

Westside, thank you for your reply. With a red face, the answer to my problem proved to be too simple for words, too simple for me to reveal in this public BB. Thank you for your thoughts.

    Welcome to the Forum, richarde!

    Richard,

Please do not be embarrassed! You would not believe the big fat boo boo's I've made, causing me no end of frustration, and humiliation. So just be delighted that you are human, and make mistakes. Who needs perfection anyhow?

    Cheers! :D
