I've just recently bought a Netgear WGR614v6 54 Mbps router and hook it up to my 1st desktop without a problem. Now I have a second desktop upstairs with a 54 Mbps Wireless adapter to connect and a Dell laptop with a build in card to connect. Now i found that when my second desktop is on I can get connected to the network fine. But when I go to turn my laptop on it says limited or no connectivity. I turned my second desktop off and repaired my laptops connection and it worked again. It happens both ways (whatever I turn on first). Is there a way I can config my WGR614v6 to use both my second Desktop and my laptop at the same time?

    Thanks,

Use cable hook up your dell to the router and see what will happen.

I wonder if one or both of the wireless computers are configured to use "Ad-hoc" mode. Ad-hoc mode is for connecting two wireless devices together without an intermediate access point (in your network you router acts as an access point). I wonder if when you have both computers on they start connecting directly together rather than via the router.

This guide shows the Netgear wireless NIC tool interface. The Network Type selector is middle left and is shown with the "Infrastructure" option selected rather than Ad-hoc.

Are you using static IPs or DHCP automaticly determined IP addressing on the wireless clients?

It sounds as if you set both wireless clients to the Same IP.
