Sound yes, no video

Hi guys and girls, you are my last hope.

I've just installed the software Satellite TV for PC in my Windows XP Pro (fully up to date) but when running, I have sound but no streaming video. the streaming video works fine with other programs. I have ADSL 512 kb. internet connection.

Initially I had Window Media Player 10 and then update to version 11, installed all the codecs I could find but still no video. Disabled Adblocks, Spyware and adware detectors, enabled pop up windows, disabled Zone Alarm and Mcafee, reinstalled the players, etc, to no avail. All I get is a black screen. I tried on another machine and it works perfectly so there is a gremlin in my Windows.

I also played with the settings in WMP and followed the guidance from the software site, nothing would fix it. All the settings seem to be in perfect order.

Windows is fully up to date, video drivers the most recent ones from Nvidia.

Any suggestions?

 

Have you installed DivX and MPEG-4 codec ?

if you have not installed yet ,please try with installing DivX and MPEG-4 codec .

They were already installed. I found what the problem was: video acceleration. I reduced to the half scale and it worked fine. Good exercise...
