I have been trying to copy some files from my hard disk onto either my floppy or CD drive and a pop up window tells me it is inaccessible. What do I do?

    Hello nicoledean and welcome :)

Are they listed in Device Manager?

To access DM, right click My Computer, then click properties, then the Hardware tab, then the Device Manager bar.

Expand CD ROM - click the + sign.

Are there any yellow exclamation signs next to them?

Moving this tread to the Hardware section.

    Regards - Charles

    Hi nicoledean,
I may have missed something, but, I don't think I can explain more simply then that. What part don't you follow?

Thanks - I found it but as far as I can see no problem. Must be a problem with the CD-itself

The standard procedure for 'drive inaccessible' - floppy or CD-ROM is to remove it via Device Manager - preferably in Safe Mode and reboot to allow Windows to reinstall it.
