I am having problem with opening some applications like Norton Anitvirus and Database application like FileMaker Pro 8. Everytime I try to open FileMaker Pro 8, this message comes up: "The application or DLL C:\Windows\x86_Microsoft.Windows.GDIPlus_6595b64144ccf_1.0.2600.2180_x-ww.522f82\GDIplus.dll. Please check this against your installation diskette." Any information on resolving this problem would be highly appreciated. Than kyou very much.

Hi, Rabin007 (alias James? ;)). Welcome to Windows BBS! :)

    I'm sorry. I don't have a ready-fix handy as I have never experienced such a problem.

I Googled GDIplus.dll FileMaker Pro 8 and came up with some matches that might get you going in the right direction.

EDIT: I removed information from this message that I have since determined appears to be a DEAD END in regards to 007's request.

One site I just found that might be helpful:

Advisor Guide to Using FileMaker Pro

Here is the "title" info from the web page's HTML source code:
Perhaps they also offer technical support regarding FileMaker Pro issues. I have never used the "ADVISOR NETWORK" before so I cannot offer any opinions.

EDIT: They do have a forum that might be helpful. I do not know if you would have to subscribe to the ADVISOR NETWORK to post on the forum.

EDIT #2: I searched their forum for GDIplus.dll and simply GDIplus. I came up with 0 results. :(

By the way, you mentioned having problems with Norton Antivirus but you did not state exactly what problems you have with Norton Antivirus.

Does Norton Antivirus produce exactly the same error?

If you provide more specific information, I think people are more likely to investigate for you and offer suggestions.

The only other suggestion I can currently provide is to use the Microsoft GDI+ Detection Tool to check your system for a GDIPlus (a.k.a: GDI+) security vulnerability that exists in certain versions of GDI+.

Here are a couple more links with information regarding the GDI+ vulnerability.
