I bought a 2GB SanDisk stick. It appears as an "F" drive on my three office computers.

On my home unit I already have an "F" drive and expected the stick to label itself "G ". It doesn't show up as a drive at all. (all computers XP, SP2).

It DOES show up in "device manager" listed with the other disc drives. Of course, I've "removed" and "rebooted" and "reinstalled" numerous times with no change. (On the other computers in device mgr it appears under the "other" heading rather than under disc drives)

    Anybody got some helpful suggestions?

Look in Disk Management - you may need to assign a drive letter to it.

Thanks, Pete. Can you tell me how to get to "disk mgt "? I haven't seen the screen to assign letters in years and can't find it now.

Right click on My Computer > Manage > Disk Management

Well, dang, that didn't work. The stick in disk mgt said it'd be labelled "G" (which is what I'd expected) but still wasn't showing in explorer. I relabelled it "J" and uninstalled, reinstalled, etc. Still couldn't find it as a drive but it is still listed in device manager under "disk drives ", while on all the other computers it is found under "other ". Don't know what else I can describe that would help me fix this problem.

    Any other ideas?

ON EDIT... Thanks Pete. It works now. Getting me to remember "manage" did the trick, although I'm not sure exactly what the trick was. Tried a couple of things and now it's there.
