I want my files and folders to be listed by titles not "tiles ". I click on "view" then under thumbnails I click on "list" The titles change at this time but the next time I open them they are back to "tiles ". Is there a way that I can permanently keep them as "list "?
    Thank you for your help.

I'm in front of a W2K machine at the moment but most of these settings are similar in XP.
After you have set your folder preferences from the View menu, go to Tools|Folder Options|View and click on Like Current Folder. It may also help to tick Remember Each Folder's View Settings in advanced as well, If this setting is also in XP. Sorry I can't remember.

Thank you Paul. It worked. Thank you, Thank you.
I have one other question but it may not be within your area. When I download an animation to my "albumn" folder it has movement but when I insert it into an email message, it has no movement. The animations were saved as bmp and gif files.

Animations can be "gifs ". Inserting into an e-mail means attaching a file to an e-mail so there won't be any movement until whoever you sent it to saves it and views it.

Inserting an image into an email and attaching a file are two entirely different things. I use Netscape's Messenger (Communicator 4.79 suite) as my email client; using the HTML editor, I can insert an animated .gif directly into the text, and can see it (in motion) immediately.

An attachment is exactly that ... a file tacked onto the message for use (in this case, for viewing) by the recipient. Depending on the email client, it may, or may not, be displayed just by double-clicking on the attachment. It works that way for me, although I know that others have to save attachments before they can view them. I believe that's true of AOL's email.
