I have had firefox for over a year with many plugins and it has worked fine, this morning i tried to boot it and it would not load in regular mode or in safe mode. Yesterday i did update site advisor which seems to have problems, in addition to this downloads i IE are not working, i'd assume the two are related, ive ran multiple virus scan's and no virus has shown up, please help.

Do you know what version Site Advisor you have? Also what version Firefox, and your operating system?
I, never had a problem of the magnitude which you have, affecting also IE. I have SA v.23 which was not working well in Firefox1.5.0.6, and 2.0b2, but it never prevented me from opening the browser.
I am not sure that I fully understand what is affecting you, especially, this part:
in addition to this downloads i IE are not working . Do you mean "in" IE?
Before doing anything else, let's get things clear. How do you go in Firefox Safe Mode?
Are you using IE, or another computer, now?

i am using the newest firefox, and i just updated site advisor yesterday so whatever version the newest is, thats what i have. by downloads don't work in IE i mean that i click download choose the desktop and when the dl finishes the file is not there, the same happens when i download from Maxthon (the browser im using now because its the only other browser on my computer) i think the problem doesn't lie in IE but in the download manager, to access ff in safe mode i've tried everything, the start menue, the run command with -safe-mode and a few others i believe.
