DVD RW- no video

    Ive just bought a LiteOn DVD CD RW, SHM-165P6S, which installed OK on my WinXP SP2 system. Then I installed Power DVD 6 and the Nero 6 programs that came with it .The problem is that when I insert Movie DVD, sounds come out OK, but video is missing.

    Pentium 4, 1.7GB Cpu, 384 MB ram.

    Could anyone please help. Thanks

    Could be you are missing some codec packs .. http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/KLite_Codec_Pack_Full/1094057842/3
    this is a lite version an has most of everything that you should need. Set a restore point before you install any unknown program.

    If thats not the problem please post back. Also you could do with at least 512 meg of ram on your machine.

    In a situation like this my first reaction would be to uninstall both PowerDVD and Nero, reboot and re-install PowerDVD only and check that out. If all is well re-install Nero.

    PowerDVD and Nero should work together with no problems - I have PowerDVD 6 and Nero 7 both installed and both work as they should.

    Tks for your replies. The problem resulted due to my PCI video card, which I had to replace with an AGP, Gainward.This worked perfectly. Thanks again
