I have a laptop (HP) and use OE Express. When I travel I can receive e-mails but can not send e-mails. I have no problem when I use my laptop at home.
    Using XP Home SP2.
    Thanks for any help.

You should be able to get right to your ISP's mail server and do it from there. Who do you use for an ISP?

Most ISP's won't allow you to send mail through them for a different ISP.

You'll either have to use a Web based email or change your SMTP account settings to the ISP you're connected to where you're away.

My ISP is Charter. I have no problem when at home. It's only when I am out of state that I have trouble sending e-mails. I remember something about having to change the STMP (out going mail) setting but don't know what to put in. Is there a third party program that will let me use OE Express?
I know that I can get & send e-mails thru Charter on the net but I then have no way to save to OE nor to reply to e-mails that I have saved on OE.

When you go out of state and go to an office or hotel for example-> You Have to use the SMTP info from the ISP that the office or hotel uses.

    Steve -
How do I get the STMP info? I have asked the hotel and all I get is a 'huh'. The wireless connection is not always the ISP and I can't always find anyone who knows or will tell me who the ISP is.

Your ISP, the one you use at home, will be able to help you.

I had to put "authsmtp" before my isp in the outgoing mail properties for the smtp string. That way when I use a different ISP to connect and eventually send, it authenticates the transmission.

They should be saved at Charter just like they are in OE when you send them.

Charter does keep copies of emails but I need to use OE express because of emails I have stored there and need to reply to. If I use Charter to receive and send emails I then have to forward them to OE express and then forward them back to Charter to send.
In order to send emails now I use OE to compose the email, copy it via clipboard, paste into Charter mail and send. A real hassle!
Looking for a way to OE Express anywhere I am.

Skipslot - Now the outgoing SMTP is mail.charter.net. Would I put authsmtp.mail.charter.net OR authsmtp.charter.net?
    Thanks

I believe that SMTP has to be before auth. smtpauth.

The example I gave was what I had to use for my ISP. Charter is different, I would suggest to look at MrBill's link and suggestion he gave.
