Changing PC's

    Hi,All, I am changing my PC tower over soon and can I install my current XP Pro O/E onto my new PC. The new one has been reformatted.
    I know I can load it on but will Windows recognise it ?

    No, according to the EULA, you can not!

    If it is a retail XP pro CD (not OEM) I believe that you can remove the installation from the old computer and install it on the new computer but you would have to call Microsoft to get it activated on the new computer.

    Hi ... I have already done this on 3 different computers with my retail version and I never had yet a problem with activation or did i make any calls to microsoft for it , There no limit as to how many times you can install a retail version , just as long its only on one computer, one license per one computer
