Can't connect to work related website

Hello,
I'm trying to connect to a website that allows employees to do there timesheet from home. I get the message: Connection timed out: check network connection, or if procted by firewall or proxy, make sure FireFox is permitted to access the web

I am running win 2000 pro, have cable internet, free ZA, and AVG. I used to be able to get to this website before I re-formatted my hard drive and added the above software.

Found the answer

I switched to cable internet and have the value pack that does not use a static IP address. In order to access my work network to do my timesheet, I would have to upgrade to the business High Speed internet, which uses a static IP address.

An unusual request for a website to demand home based users to access via a static IP. My guess is the website/service is using static IP as part of the login security (username is checked against a known / assigned IP address). My first suggestion is talk to payroll / timesheet staff and ask if they are aware of this website requirement. Can this service be provided using a dynamic IP (which is about 99.999% of home user broadband service type)? If not, would they pay the extra cost for a static IP.
