I know very little about Microsoft Access.

We have a database that we use at our company that was designed many years ago (files in it go back to 1994).

It is so old that no one knows who created it, and no one in the company has any experience with access. We have an IT person who we call when we need help, but he is gone for two weeks. So, being that I am the only one with any IT experience, they asked me to look into it.

This morning, when we click on entries in the database, blank forms come up. When we are clicking on an item in the list, it should come up with the information that was entered on that form.

THe data is there (went to forms view) but it appears that the "link" for connecting the list with the data in the form view is corrupted (sorry if this is not the correct wording, but I don't know how to explain it better).

It was fine at 5 pm yesterday, but as of 5:30 am this morning, it was corrupted, so it may have happened overnight during the backup.

The wednesday backup is fine, but we need the data that was entered on thursday to be carried over somehow.

Is there an easy way to fix this? Merge the documents somehow? I could easily just take the wednesday version and replace the corrupted thursday one, but we would lose all the data entered yesterday.

Any suggestions? I think the correct thing that is corrupted is the "query" for taking the info from the list and showing it on the form.

    Hi raingirlIT,

I am not sure I understand your problem, but maybe this will help.

"This morning, when we click on entries in the database, blank forms come up. When we are clicking on an item in the list, it should come up with the information that was entered on that form. "

(Looks like you are adding a new record or are opening a query).
Information is stored in Tables. You can enter data in datasheet view or form view.

Are you clicking on entries under "Objects" in the "Database Window "? When the file opens, you must click on the option under "Objects" that you want to work with.....(Tables, Queries, forms or Reports).....Make sure you open the Table that you want, then switch to form view.
