Am using Win 2000 Pro on a Dell Latitude CPiD300XT with 256mb ram. Everything seems to work and all updates are present but if I try to remove or uninstall a program [any program as I have tried several] it gets so far and then seems to freeze- I go to task manager and it is not responding, sometimes I can close the program and other times I have to do a hard shut down. At times it seems to take forever to install a program, at times I get a message about debugging going on. Any ideas? I have two HHD's that I interchange, one with Win 98SE and one with Win 2000 Pro.

Thanks for the reply , the IE was not in add/remove and I had to download IE 6 again from the web an reinstall--could not get anywhere in Safe Mode as it said files need were not verified or something and then I would get an error but I am making progress. How does one check the system files in Win 2000 Pro as there is no Scandick?

I put the location of my I386 file [D:\I386] in the reg as suggested and rebooted but it continues to ask for the CD. Any suggestions?
