    Hi to all,

I posted last month about my upgrading from NSW 2002 to 2006. My yearly subsciption was up and Norton wanted to upgrade. I agreed, charged my 49.95 to my credit card. I asked for the CD since I had dialup. A tech person told me to uninstall the older version with Add/Remove. The CD came, but, to make a long story short, the upgrade did not happen, and my machine was so messed up I had to re-format my hard drive. Now I use Zone Alarm.

It was a big hassle getting everything updated and back to where I wanted, but I am glad I have that software off my machine!

    Hi to Jeena!

Don't forget that NSW 2006 and Zone Alarm do not perform the same task. You have substituted FireWall software for AntiVirus software and you need both!

Oops, I meant to say I have AVG for antivirus and ZA for the firewall. One thing I did have was cleansweep -- do you recommend installing just that, or are there other cleaners available?

Personally, I do my cleanups manually. I have had NSW installed the last few years but only use One Button Checkup and WinDoctor. I have NIS installed for AV and FW.

Alternatives to CleanSweep is System Security Suite and CCleaner but I have not used any of them.

As I understand it, both are more powerful than CleanSweep, CCleaner has a Registry Cleaner which you shouldn't use unless you know what you're doing.
