xp pro sp2 problem

    xp pro, sp2
    windows seems to work OK- Office and games work. IE and other programs that use IE for updates don't. IE seems to run but shows only a blank frame. Same with Norton internet security and systemworks. Steam updates don't run,(I assume it uses IE) My only disk is SP1a
    Can anyone help me?

    Sound like a firewall blocking access , You are using a firewall , Correct ?

    I am using Norton Internet security,- nothing else. I should have mentioned that I had numerous freezes, requiring shutdown prior to the problem.

    You're welcome , Though I have seen from other sites people having problems with 2006 Norton internet security with other programs they have installed , You might even hear from others on this site as well , Wait and see if this is true
