Just a wild stab in the dark, but has the restore changed your resolution settings?

Check your screen resolution as David suggests and if that has not changed go into Display Properties > Appearance > Advanced and set up the sizes to suit, using the dropdown list to select components or clicking on the item in the image above.

yorky--Just elaborating a little on what PeteC has said.
If only Desktop icons are affected, right click on a blank space on the Desktop|Properties|Appearance tab|Advanced. In the dropdown list headed "Item ", highlight Icon. You can change the size of Icons there.
Font sizes can also be changed in the Appearance tab. No need to use the dropdown Item list (though you can). Rather, in the image at the top of the Appearance tab window, click on the item for which you want to change the font size.
Not sure what you mean by "games window ".

P.S. If you also need to change the size of Taskbar or Start Menu icons, post back.
