My free version of AVG was performing the daily scan and during the scan noted that a virus had been detected. When the scan completed, the virus file was placed in Quarantine and AVG closed itself without any specific notes or requests for action. AVG's Help indicates this means the virus was removed from the system and a copy was placed in the Quarantine so it could be safely handled.

My question is - Do I have any continuing concerns and what should I do with the file that is now in AVG Quarantine area?

    Specifics on Virus/Worm:

    Virus Identified - Worm/Generic.TX
    File Name - REG.EXE
    Path - c:\I386\REG.EXE
    File Size - 134KB

If it's quarantined then you have no worries. If you're concerned run a back up scan at either Panda or Trend Micro.

This will give you second opinion.

    Thanks TeMerc and ski123,

I felt I was OK but just wanted to make sure. The links from ski123 were on the mark and I have those bookmarked now. Didn't find any of that when I Googled or went to the Grisoft site. Guess I used the wrong search terms.
