One of the users at my company is this specific error with Outlook 2000. The computer is running Windows 2000 with all of the patches installed. I have tried to reinstall/repair Outlook several times without any resolution of this issue.

Specifically, when Outlook is opened it hangs and when going to the Task Manager is displayed as "Not responding." I've looked online in several other places and I've followed the suggestions there to no avail. Here's what I've done so far:

    1) I've tried to open Outlook in Safe mode and the issue comes up everytime.
    2) I've renamed the outcmd.dat file to outcmd.old and restarted Outlook and it still will not start correctly.
    3) I've tried to use the /cleanviews command, and the problem still hasn't been resolved.
    4) The final option that I found was to see if an Add-in is causing the error, but I can't get Outlook to stay up and responding long enough to even get the Options Window open.

If anyone has any suggestions, this problem has been bothering me and is impacting the user as well since email is a vital part of her job.

To add on to my previous post about the problem that several users at my company are having with their Outlook.

I was able to fix two of them who are running Outlook XP by running both Spybot and AdAware on their computers.

I am still having an issue with one computer that is running Windows 2000 and Outlook 2000. I have tried running Spybot and AdAware, both of which were able to find registry problems and spyware, but that did not solve the issue of Outlook hanging. We use an exchange server for our primary email system and I received a suggestion to remove the exchange server, restart the computer, and then add the exchange server back on the computer. This too did not work and Outlook continues to hang once it has started up.

If anyone has any ideas on any possible solutions to fix this issue with Outlook 2000, I would appreciate it greatly.
