I have started to forget to look at my desk calendar and have more than once left a friend in the lurch by missing an appointment. Short of being tested for Alzheimer's, I would like to address this problem by putting some kind of calendar on my PC where I could input appointments; ideally, this calendar could be set to pop up automatically whenever I boot the computer or allow me to set it for Quick Launch. I use Mozilla 1.7.12 as my browser and run Windows XP.

I have looked through the various software already on my computer and don't find anything like this. It seems to me it's simple enough that I should be able to find something free to download, but so far, Google has failed me on that. Most of what's out there is for (a) free limited-time trials, (b) meeting organizers that track down other people, (c) stuff you can create and post on the web, etc. None of this is what I want.

Do any of you know of something free that will do what I've described? Thanks!!
