    Hi all,

My work laptop has a pop3 mail account (primary) and an exchange account (no emial, just to share calendar and tasks). We're still migrating the emails infrastructure to exchange so only calendar and tasks are working.

The objective is to share my tasks with another co-worker so we can always now how a certain task is going without having to send emails ou phone one another asking.

But I'm having a little problem. When I create a task my coworker can see the task (he has owner permissions like me). If I edit the task he can see the edit I added to the task. But when he edits the task my laptop does not update (tryed send/recieve), waiting, etc. I have to shutdown Outllok and restart it for the task to be updated with his edit. I now it's not a problem with his computer because if I access the tasks by web interface the task is updated. The problem seems to be my computer that only updates if I turn of and restart Outlook. The same thing happens if the task is created by him. I can the the new task and edit it, he can see my edit, but when he adds something new my laptop does not update the task (the server seems ok, web interface shows the task updated).

Already tryed every option in Outlook I can think of, tried "detect and repair" and reinstalling. Still the same problem.

    Anyone has any ideas?

    Using Outllok 2003 sp2 on Windows XP sp2 with a windows sbs2003 server and exchange 2003 sp1

    Thanks for your time

Do you have the XP firewall turned on, on your computer?

I ask because I've seen similar problems with users Inboxes not displaying new messages without closing Outlook or clicking on a different folder within Outlook. What we ended up doing was either disabling the firewall all together or adding Outlook.exe to the exception list for the firewall.

    Hi,

Thanks for the sugestion, but it didn't work.

I've tried the following. Created a shared task on my Outlook. the other computer sees the new task. I update the task on my computer and the other computer sees the update. I updated the task on the other computer and my computer does not see the update. If I restart outllok the task gets updated on my computer.

So I tried the following. I updated the task on the other computer and pressed sen/recieve on mine. the task does not show updates on my computer. I disconnetc from the network and restarted outlook, and without network my computer shows the update from the other computer. so it seems my computer DOES get the task update but does no show it, only when I restart outlook. This is not a problem with the server nor woth the other computer, but with mine. Maybe something to do with the way outlook updates the screen.

    any thoughts?=

    Thanks
