    Hi,

I am trying to transfer my old Outlook Express settings to my new PC.

I backed up the account settings from the registry as follows:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Account Manager.

I exported this registry key and to restore I am opening and merging it on the new machine. It says merge was successful but when I open OE the account settings are not there. I have setup my Hotmail account manually btw.

Also I have tried to copy my old OE folders (dbx files) into the new store folder but again they do not show up. I am using the correct folder as when I create a new folder manually in OE I can see that a .dbx folder has been created, but when I copy into this location the folders do not display in OE.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Rob.

Ok I deleted the following registry keys on my new machine and now I have my account settings back:

    |--HKEY_CURRENT_USER
    |-----Identities

    |--HKEY_CURRENT_USER
    |-----Software
    |--------Microsoft
    |-----------Internet Account Manager

    |--HKEY_CURRENT_USER
    |-----Software
    |--------Microsoft
    |-----------Outlook Express

    |--HKEY_CURRENT_USER
    |-----Software
    |--------Microsoft
    |-----------WAB
    |--------------WAB4

However no folders for the dbx files copied into the store folder?

    Any ideas?

    Thnaks,

    Rob.
