    Hi,

How can I strip the jpegs out of my emails saved in a few hundred folders in
Outlook Express? I'd like to keep the text in the emails but get rid of the
    pictures.

    Thanks.

    flantoons--It depends on your purpose.
If you really want to delete the image (to save space, for example),click Forward and address a copy of the email to yourself. Right click on the image|Cut before sending the forwarded message. Then Delete the original email.
If you just do not want to see the images (but not change the size of the email), OE Tools|Options|Read tab check "Read all messages in plain text ". You also may check the boxes on the Security tab "Do not allow..." and "Block images... ". In all three cases exit the windows by clicking Apply|OK.
The latter is a faster, global approach, but will not save space. The former means forwarding each individual email.

Hi Welshjim (you're a long way from home)

Thanks for your advice....yes I want to save space for when I backup my emails.
Trouble is I have 3000 of them, so I would not like to deal with each in turn. Is there an automatic way of doing it?

I am a cartoonist and email cartoons to my customers...example here...

    Thanks.

flantoons--I regret that I have no idea how to do what you want on batch basis. Maybe someone else will come along to help.
I assume you know how to move a batch of OE mail out of OE to another folder on your hard drive. That will relieve the OE program of so many files (which is good), but it will not save any hard drive space. After you do that, you should Compact OE. Post back if you need any info on that.

P.S. Fun site of yours. :)

Welshtom.....that prog "In Touch" works a treat....you can drop multiple messages into it at once, and it does the stripping quickly.

    Thanks for your help.

flantoons--Thanks for telling us. Just what you wanted. The principle sounds like what I suggested, but on a batch basis. Who would have thought. :)
Did you mean "Quick Tools "? I do not see "In Touch" anywhere in that link.
