    Hello kaylaslovely and welcome,

Is there another system on which you can test these speakers? I'm always sceptical whenever I see that the advice is to update another piece of equipment.

You might also try to update drivers for your sound card.

Right click on My Computer > Properties.

    Click on Hardware tab.

    Click on Device Manager.

Scroll down to and expand Sound, video, and game controllers.

You should see the brand of the sound drivers. As an example, mine is Creative.

Then search for the company's web site and look for updated drivers.

Since your problem is with hardware, and doesn't pertain to a particular OS (so far), I've moved the thread to the Harware section.

    Regards - Charles

Your sound card may not be compatible with the speaker setup. You can't run a 5.1 speaker set on a 3.1 sound card and etc. and have all channels work.

Whiskeyman is right - the 5 speaker set up slipped by me.

Your current sound card can't handle this. You're going to have to look for a sound card that handles a 5 speaker system.

FYI, your sound card is sis 7018 SIS corporation.

The latest 718 drivers dated Aug. 19,2003.
From the specs, your OS is WinME.
