    I have a strange problem.
I set up OE on a Toshiba laptop
so my friend can access his NetworkSolutions
    email through OE.
I used the "Set up POP3 now using our wizard ".
    On this page:
    http://mail.customair.us/
If I use the "View manual POP3 set-up instructions" OE
    doesn't work at all.
Here's the problem, I can send an email to the laptop
and it receives it fine in OE.
I can take that email and "Forward" it to someone else
    and it works fine.
I can "Reply" to sender and it works fine.

But when I Create a New Mail and hit Send
    I receive this error message
    http://webpages.charter.net/mgs/OE.jpg

Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

How many users do you have on the problem PC in OE? If more then one, try a different one when you hit Create go to the right end of the From line and choose somebody different.

AVG has the wrong POP3 and SMTP numbers anyways. I have seen it work fine on some PC's and not on others. Double click on AVG beside the clock and double click on E-mail Scanner and then Properties/Servers and the POP3 should be highlighted. Click on Modify and remove the 10 infront of the 110 and click OK. Then click on SMPT and click on modify remove the 110 in front of the 25 and near the bottom of that page and put a check in Activate this server etc. then click OK and OK and OK then X out of it.

Sorry Still will not send. I followed the instructions above, the only thing that was differant from the instructions was instead of 11015 in the box
the Laptop has 10025 so I made no changes to that box.

also tried it with AVG and ZA turned off.
    Still get the error message.

Have a look in that account's properties in OE and see if things are as they say they should be according to what they say on this page.

    http://www.emailuserguide.com/07-howto-setup-email-software.htm#01

To view the account's properties, in OE click tools>accounts, click on the mail account to highlight it and then click the properties button. Make sure the outgoing mail server is as it should be according to the above page. Also, check to see that it's using the correct port number. Note what it says in the number 9 paragraph.

Sorry about the typo. It should be 25 instead of 15. The 10 and the 110 need to be removed. Look at what they are in OE in. Tools/Accounts and then click on Properties and then the advanced tab. Leave them like they are there. 25 and 110.

Thanks Zander but I had already tried that with no luck.
My friend works out of town and had to pick up the laptop
    this morning. Also thanks MrBill.
He can use the NetworkSolutions email page for now.
If he hasn't fixed OE by next weekend when he gets back.
    I'll go at it again.
    Thanks again for now.
