    Group,

Took laptop with win2000 to another office location. Was told to change my domain and sign on as a guest to use their LAN/ network.
Doing this caused all my settings, printers , e-mail, favorites, addressbook, etc. to be completely lost without any warning on my old id and domain. Couldn't sign back in under old id and password. I'm back to the home office and system's guy tried to find everything to no avail. Has me hooked back up to original Domain and Lan but everythings ...gone!... hated loosing all my E-mail, gotta believe it is still on this little used hard drive but we cant find them anywhere doing searchs. Can't believe I didn't get a warning. Any suggestions on what I might try?????
    Thanks !
    wave :(

Unless your old profile was specifically deleted on purpose by someone all your settings/e-mail/etc... should still be there. Most likely eveything your looking for should be in C:\Documents and Settings\%your_username%\. Either your tech support doesn't know what they're doing more was done to this maching than simply changing domains and logging in as a guest.

    hmmm

First of all if properly configured all of your email should still be on the server, second there is no way logging into a different domain ersed anything. Most likely (unless as Scott mentioned, someone has done something incredibly stupid to the machine) you're just logging into a different machine acct.

The only scenario your mail might not reside on the mail server anymore would be if your mail is downloaded to personal folders stored locally on the hard drive. Should that be the case, the Personal Folders (PST) file is somewhere on your hard drive, most likely in your user profile directory.

If you're using Outlook, your email will be stored in a .pst file. These files are hidden in Windows 2000, so you need to 'Show all hidden files', then you can do a search for *.pst. Find your .pst file then open it with Outlook.
