What is the procedure for replacing your existing hard drive. The drive I am using is not large enough for the things I want to do. Can I clone my existing drive to another new drive without encountering any problems with XP. Do I have to call someone at Microsoft to get permission to do this? Will I have inform anyone of this? Please advise. Will the operating system clone without any problems?

I have successfully cloned WinXP to another harddisk using Norton Ghost 2002 which is included in Norton SystemWorks professional. Had no problem doing this as this version supports XP.

Thanks for the reply..I purchased a copy of Powerquest "Drive Copy" which I have used successfully with w98. I am hoping I can use it to get my operating system transferred without having any problems. I am mainly concerned because my O/S was an upgrade from W98SE and because of the hard drive size, It was recommended to stay with the FAT32 partition and not NTFS.

Thanks to anyone who can advise me..

One thing for sure, I like this format so well that I am definitely going to start supporting it. I would be a shame to have it disappear.

Just repeat what you did last time and swap drives when you're finished.
