    Hi,

Can anyone direct me to a quality list of PC support freeware software? I'm looking for a general free self help support solution, not niche utilities -

    Thanks -
    Yuvi,
    www.pcpal.com ( the freeware I'm working on (-: )

    yuvi--
    Not sure I understand.
There are scores, perhaps hundreds, of generalized freeware sites, like
    http://www.windowsbbs.com/links.php
Use Google to find sites specific to the problem of interest.
    Or post a problem here.

    General PC support

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

To clarify what I am looking for in specific -
I'm not looking for niche programs that solve or detect specific issues in the PC such as a registry cleaning or removing private tracks, rather support programs that detects problems in general from all areas - security, performance, etc. - programs that could be good for a more simple user that doesn't have the knowledge or time to run 5-10 different utilities.

    Thanks - Y.

afaik, thnere's no single app that 'does it all'. There are hundreds of uniques utilities that do a combination of things that you are looking for. However, keep in mind there is no shortcut to pc trouble shooting & repair, one should learn the 'hows & whys' and use specialized apps for different tasks. The simplified 'do-it-all' apps are already built into windows, and they fall short on effectiveness due to the quantity of variables involved in support, t-shooting & repair.

yuvi--As TonyT has said, there are no "one shot" programs to find and cure problems.
If your PC is running well, do not look for problems. "If it works, do not fix it. "
If, however, you are having a specific problem, do a search on www.google.com or post here.
