Upon boot up I keep getting the "Win2000 Configure Your Server" Window. It wants to install/configure remote installations services. However I don't want these. eg active DHCP, DNS server, etc,. How can I get it to stop this prompting ? As soon as I try to continue it says "Remote Installation Service setup cannot obtain information from a domain controller. Either the domain controller is not avail, etc, etc" I can not seem to cancel this either. Any help/suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This is the standard "Configure Your Server" screen ?

If so you just need to select "I'll configure this later" and then put a tick in the "Dont show this again" box and it will disappear

It can be reactivated from the Administrative Tools menu

Word of advice is that if you're wanting to install AD dont use this wizard but instead type DCPROMO from the Run box as its a lot better than the wizard

DCPROMO runs a wizard but its slightly diferent from the Configure your server one as it allows some sensible changes (DNS domain etc)

Dont forget the usual gotcha about the root domain being created in your DNS if the server isnt attached to the net at DNS installation time
