Hello greeneyes and welcome to the Board,

Could you give more details please.

Is this a message you're getting on bootup - if so, post as much of the message as possible.

Is the folder itself openning - if so:

From the Start menu, click on run.
    Type msconfig and ok.

Then in the System Configuration utility, click on the Start tab.

Is there a line with system32\DRIVERS\pci.sys in it?

    Or a blank line?

If there is, uncheck the line and reboot.

Afterwards when you boot up, you'll get a message from the System that you have changed the startups, tick the box on the left to shut the message off.

    Regards - Charles

What are your system specs? Is this a custom built or proprietary (Dell, HP/Compaq or etc.) PC? Have you changed any hardware such as the memory lately?
